It wil be great to see you! Social customs in Perú are completely diferent from your country, for that reason I decided to write some tips that will be helpful for you…

 

First, we often give a handshake or a kiss on the cheek to greet someone, so don’t panic if someone gives you a kiss or a hug. I know that in your country it’s important to respect the personal space but here people tend to stand much closer and you may find it uncomfortable but it's because personal space is smaller in Perú and generally in Latin countries.

When we talk we usually make gestures with our face and we move our hands.

If you go to a party or meeting is customary to bring a gift for the host.

It will be so nice to see you! When you arrive, some social customs ca(SP) be confusing, so I thought I'd write to explain a few things...

First, in Peru it's common to be 5 minutes late for an appointment,(P) I know in Japan (S) is very different. It's customary to shake hands or kiss on the cheek when you meet someone. When someone speak,(SV) it's customary to say "pe" in the end of the sentence. Finally, in Peru it's typical to eat bread at breakfast.

Usually here when we meet a new person, we kiss in the chick from the other person and say "hello", "nice to meet you". Smoking in public spaces is very innapropiate and here it's not very irresponsible to be late for work or another place. About the food, here in Perú the food is the most deliciuous in the world and web have a lot of tipycal dishes as "ceviche", "causa rellena", "papa a la huancaina", "mazamorra morada",etc. Well, in my country exist a lot of crime, and only some places are secure but in the other hand, we have a lot of places to visit for example "Machu Picchu", "Chan Chan", "Huascarán snoky",etc. I'm very exciting for your arrive and my country is waiting for you.

It will be so nice to see you!. I hope you are very well. Before you arrive in Peru, I have to tell you about some social customs in my country. Here, when you meet a person it's common to great with a hello!. When two men greet, they shake hands, women kiss on cheek. In case a man and a woman ran intoeach other, they greet with a kiss on the cheek, too.
In my country also we are used to greeting before entering somewhere with a GOOD MORNING, GOOD AFTERNOON and GOOD EVENING.
These are some things you should know about social customs in my country.

It will be interesting to see you ¡.(P) Social customs in this country are confusing.(P) So I am going to explain them to you the most important things ,(P) first , if you don't speak the language very well you can use many strategies ,(P) For example, you can use facial expressions, speak very slowly, talk fluently, another(WW) things, with that you can break the language barrier. Maybe in your country you eat the food with sticks, but in Peru some of the foods are eaten with a fork, a knife and a spoon. In Peru the typical foods are ceviche, rocoto relleno, papa a la huancaina, etc. Another custom is shaking your hands or a kiss on the check when you meet someone. In Peru, there are a lot of tourist places,(P) if you want to visit this places by bus, you should never travel by bus in rush hour because there is a lot of traffic.

This place is very beautiful to visit, see you, and have a good trip.

Shaking hands when you meet someone is common in this country, so is same as our country is that aspect. also, in this city all people use a personal space when we talk to someone, but i always try to respect their customs.

When you meet to someone, it's impolite to ask the age in this place. When you meet a girl and then fall in love it's inappropriate to hold hands in public in this country. 

About their eating habits. In this place is customary to eat with chopsticks and their dishes are very different to our country. people eat on the floor. When I go to a restaurant, it's common to here you must wait until all the dishes have been served on the table and then people gathered can eat.

The customs in my country are very simple, in this e-mail, I am going to write some of the customs.

When you arrive to my country, it is normal to shake hands when you greet a man and a kiss on the cheek when you meet a girl.

It is also appropriate to give the seat to a pregnant woman or adult when you  travel by bus. If you prefer to travel by taxi it is unnecesary to tip.

You can keep your eating habits as there is little difference in the change of schedule of our countries.

If you can not communicate with people, you can overcome the language barrier by using body language.

About the food, In my country there are different types of food for example papa a la huancaina, ceviche, patasca and different desserts.

There are also different ways to get to tourist places for example bus, taxi, train and airplane. Tipping taxi drivers is unnecessary in Peru.

It will be so nice to see you, I know social customs are different in each country, so I write to explain some things. 

When two women meet they  kiss on the cheek, but when two men meet  they shake hands. When you are in a conversation you must keep eye contact, but you not stare to the other person and you don't try to invade the personal space of the persons is inappropriate.You will be careful with your body language and facial expression, some gestures or behavior can be rude such as point the finger at someone.

About the food, here you will find different kind of dishes, so you will have to change your eating habits. In Peru we use forks and spoons to eat and you can walk while you eat on the streets, it's common here.

There are many forms to go to tourist places, you can take a bus or taxi, you don't have to leave a tip to the taxi driver, tipping taxi drivers is unnecessary in Peru.

A different country, a different life.  That is something that you have to always remember when you come here. So I thought of making a list of certain cultural differences that you will encounter in Peru:

In terms of greetings, people will shake hands upon meeting for the first time.  When you get to know each other better, men will often pat each other on the back and women will kiss each other on one cheek. 

Peruvians  and Latin Americans in general tend to have a much smaller “personal space”.  In other words, when standing near other people in conversation or a crowd, they tend to stand much closer than you may be comfortable with.

When they are communicating often make hand gestures and the conversation can become very lively and animated, if the person really gets into something. People will stand close to each other and maintain strong eye contact.

Peruvians rarely tip in restaurants, there is no rule that says you can’t if you’re pleased with the service, and it will be very much appreciated.

Look, I know you are visiting Peru for 3 months, Peru is a beautiful country, I'm sure you will love it. But like any country Peru has some costumes that you have to know.  Some cultural differences that will help you to enjoy your visit. First, when you meet someone is normal to shake hands with him, also if you meet a woman it's polite to kiss her cheek. Second, and probably one of the most important. If you want to take a taxi to go somewhere, it's better if the taxi has a kind of brand, these kind of taxis are more reliables than the independient taxis. You don't have to leava a tip to the taxi drivers.

It's customary  to shake hands when you meet a boy but  if you meet a girl, it's common to give her a kiss on the cheek.
Peruvians are friendly and loving so sometimes your personal space could be a little short.Also it's normal to  make eye contact.Most people do it when they are talking.Luis don't forget that it's inappropriate to give a kiss on the cheek to a man. 😉

It will be incredible to see you. I want to mention some social customs in Peru, because they can be confused, I try to write the most important.

When you want to greet someone, you shake hands or kiss on the cheek.

It is unusual to tip the person who gives you some kind of service.

You can enter anywhere with the shoes you have.

If you visit your friend's house, you can bring a gift. You can't refuse food because it would be rude. We don't use chopsticks, you can use spoon, fork and knife. It's normally to eat something while walking.

I know your schedule is planned for months and you're very punctual. In Peru you can change plans whenever you want and go out with your friends, people are not punctual.

Visit many tourist places, I hope that you like the dishes of Huancayo. The language barrier will not prevent you enjoy your holiday.

I'm so excited for your visit ! Social customs in a new country can be confusing, so I'd like to explain a few things.

Making direct eye contact is common in this country,so don't be afraid if someone talks to you making eye contact with you. Also, we use a short personal space when we talk to someone,but we try not to disturb the other person.

When you meet a girl, it's usual to give her a kiss on her cheek and when you meet a boy, it's customary to shake hands. Don't forget that greeting someone when you get somewhere is very appropriate.

I would like to talk to you about eating habits. We don't eat with chopsticks and we don't sit on the floor. We use cutlery and we sit on a chair . If you go to a restaurant , it's common to make special food requests, and you can leave a tip if you want.
