NELSON MANDELA
Nelson Mandela was born in Qunu, South Africa, on July 18, 1918, his parents were Gadla and Nodekeni and He had three sisters. He was married three times, his first wife was Evelyn Ntoko in 1944, his second wife was Winnie Madikizela in 1958 and Graca Machel in 1998, his mother tongue was Xhosa, when he was 5 years old, he began working as herding family's casttle Mandela began his education at mission school, his college education at the university Union college of Fort Hare, he studied law in Johannesburg. He loved sunset as his favorite time of day and his favorite music was classical – for instances, Handel, Tchaikosvsky. In 1994 Mandela's autobiography called Long Walk to Freedom was published.
He was the first democratically elected president of South Africa, won with 62% majority of vote from 1994 to 1999, but in 1960 Mandela was outlawed by ANC
Nelson Mandela politically involved in 1942, he joined African National Congress (ANC), when he helped to form the Youth League Secretary in 1947, he rose as deputy head of ANC in 1952 and he served as President of ANC in 1991 and his main goal was end the unjust system of apartheid in South Africa.
He was arrested and sentenced to life term for anti-government activities; Mandela served 27 years where he was released On February 11, 1990.
Mandela was a great person and in 1993 he won the Nobel Peace Prize and after his retirement he raised money for children´s charities, he won international acclaim for his activism.
