Stress is one of the most common problem that million of people around the world suffer. According to recent research, close to 80 percent of the general population report that they currently experience some symptoms of stress in their lives. In addition, close to 95 percent of people report having felt stress at some point of their lives. (ROYAL, par.6). As stress is so prevalent in the world, people have to know the causes and the effects that stress produce on people.
What causes stress depends, at least on part, on people’s perception of it. Something that is stressful to people may not face someone else; they may even enjoy it. First of all, the majority of people suffer from external causes; it means that people can not control their emotions. For example, people have to face a lot of kind of problems at work, relationship difficulties, financial problems, being to busy, etc; people’s morning commute may make them anxious and tense since they worry about their problems will destroy their lives. So many specialists on stress say, “If people suffer from stress, they must see a doctor.” Sometimes people can control it, but sometimes they can not.
Another common cause is external; in our society, many people suffer from stress for they are unable to think in a positive way. For instance, the majority of people have unrealistic expectations on live, they are perfectionist, pessimism, they do not accept their mistakes, etc. Like a famous psychiatrist said, “Stressful situations cannot always be totally eliminated, but there is a lot that you can do to reduce them and cope with them, and you can sometimes make situations stress-free.” What people fear may not ever happen, but just the thought of it can make them feel uncomfortable. It can start to affect their lives by making them avoid people or situations and it can also reduce their self-confidence.
It’s important to learn how to recognize when people’s stress levels are out of control. The most dangerous thing about stress is how easily it can creep up on you. People get used to it. It starts to feels familiar even normal. People do not notice how much it is affecting them, even as it takes a heavy toll.
So, if you don't learn to properly manage stress, its long-term effects can become damaging to both your mental and physical health. Chronic stress can cause serious mental disorders such as anxiety or panic disorders, depression or sleep problems like insomnia. According to HelpGuide.org, physical symptoms that commonly exacerbated or caused by stress include heart and digestive problems, obesity and skin disorders like eczema.
To sum up, the best way to manage with stress is to prevent, or if people are stressed out, they must see a doctor since the stress is not easy to control if people are alone.

Hi my friend,I like your essay because the majority of people suffer stress and is one of the big problem that our contry has. Also is difficult to understand what factor cause it and the effect will be severe if you don't control it. In addition your essay would be better if you use more statistics to prove it and more examples, too.MARITE MARIN LINDO-A08
