How to write an essay

         Have you ever tried to write an essay? Many english estudents think that writing one is a difficult process; that’s why 20% of advanced-courses-students leave those courses  because of their difficulty. Sometimes it becomes a frustrating process, but it doesn't have to be. If you know and follow carefully these 4 steps, write an essay can be easy and even funny. You need choose a topic, use the brainstorming technique, write the thesis statement and make an outline to write an essay. Let's see what each one is about.

         First of all you need to choose a topic, after that you must to research about it, utilize the internet, books, and databases to get as much information as possible. Also it's really important to focus just on the topic that you have chosen; moreover, take notes and be sure to get the better and reliable sources.

         Second, use the brainstorming technique to get ideas, it means that you need to ask yourself many questions and answer them, you need to write everything what comes to your mind, the more ideas you have, the richer you essay will be. However, there will be ideas which are not related with your topic, just try to answer the questions which are closely related with the topic.

         Third, pick your best idea and write a clear sentence, it’s called the “thesis statement”, it’s going to be the main point of your essay and after that, you need to order the ideas gotten in the previous step and start writing your thesis statement, in addition, your writing must be clear for the reader. In fact, it's practically impossible to write a good essay without a clear thesis.

          Fourth, make an outline to guide the essay structure, that is to use one-line sentences to describe paragraphs, and bullet points to describe what each paragraph will contain. Play with the essay's order, you need to organize your ideas. Now you need to write the introduction, it has to catch the reader’s attention, the paragraphs, which have to begin with topic sentences, have to support your thesis and finally the conclusion, where you can sum  the whole essay up or you can paraphrase your thesis statement.
