Eating disorders: Anorexia & Bulimia

An eating disorder is a desease that is expressed trough the eating behavior. This disorder is growing up principally because of society, for its association of beauty with physical appearance. That's why this deseases affect more young people then older ones. The most common eating disorders are anorexia and bulimia, 90% of people that suffer of these eating disorders are people between 12 and 25 years.

Bothe anorexia and bulimia have low self-esteem as their principal cause. People who suffer of them used to feel sad with themselves,it's because media is always representing beauty with thin and physically attractive models, thereby people who are not so, feels that they are not beautiful and valuable. In that moment, they want to change their physic appearance doing whatever to obtain what they hope, There is when they take eating disorders as the best solution.
Although anorexia and bulimia are apparently the same, they are very different.

In spite of they are both eating disorders in which the victim wants to loss weight, they have different characteristics. Anorexia is characterized by the lose of weight due to following extremely strict diets; in contrast, a person who has bulimia prefers to eat a lot to then fast or use laxatives.

Anorexics feel hate to themselves; similarly, bulimics feel culpability since they do what they do. Also, anorexics and bulimics usually vomit to achieve their goals.

If we talk about physiological signs, anorexics show tiredness and muscle pains, whereas bulimics show pallor and hair loss.Another thing in which they are different is because anorexic people want to know that they are physically improving day a day compared with bulimics that prefer to hide their bodies under big clothes.

In conlusion, even though people usually think that anorexia and bulimia are the same, we have to know that one differs from the other in several ways. So. now we won't confuse between both of them.
