COMPARISON/CONTRAST ESSAY ON DIGITAL/FILM CAMERAS

(BOSS, I KNOW IT WASN'T MEANT TO BE HERE BUT THERE WAS NO OTHER WAY TO SEND IT AT THE RIGHT TIME, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DELETE THIS POST AFTER YOU CHECKED IT)

Recording has become a common hobbie for the massive, while having internet sites like youtube or facebook it is already a daily activity to see people posting videos which for sure are an upgrade for the old photo albums or vcr tapes used for the family memories, for this the technology has surfaced with the new brand digital cameras to replace the tape friendly film cameras but for many users the digital ones still have big problems compared to the classic tape filmers, while improving many characteristics as well.

Specially for clean audio tapers the digital cameras happen to have a distortion problem with high bass settings(when taping concerts or music related stuff) which for sure causes to waste the whole recording if the distortion was too loud; on the other hand, film cameras never have that problem with high bass audio or even with extreme levels of sound, for the film tapes never lose a recording, they always keeps a clean audio source.

Talking about sharpness gives a more accurate difference between the digital pixels and the film resolutions by both cameras, while the digital has great capturing capabilities of color and contrast/brightness it still has problem with the borders, not only for 3d shades but for human shapes as well; on the contrary, the film cameras don't have pixelated images which cause a low level resolution but a parallel quality of image which may not be good in professional video editing but works great for the average video works.

For battery life specs the digital cameras got a nice technology which can last even 24 hours of taping while the old heavy batteries for the film cameras are discontinued and by consequence not upgraded, this causes many troubles if the owner doesn't have many batteries for their film recording as it also causes uncomfortable stress that never happen with the slim digital cameras which are usually more tiny, even able to get into a cap or a sunglass.

Finally, if you are planning to get a new camera be sure to choose the right one according to the tapes you want to get, while the digital works great for common image, it still fails in the audio grabbing that is well covered by the film tape ones; on the contrary, if you want to get into professional video editing or a sharpen memory of your own go get a brand new digital camera and download a cool video editor as ulead or adobe would offer for starting a high quality work.
