MEXICO AND JAPAN:MINIMAL DIFFERENCES

Currently, our world is having some problems between cultures because they can`t adapt their way of life to anoyher , and the other can`t accept new kind of culture on their conutries. The base of peace in the world is the communication , some especialists on that branch  think that our world have to have just one language, but it causes that we loose our culture and maybe some ethnics zones will be in danger to dissaper. The goverments should motivate to conserve thei culture ; altough, there are similarities between Mexico and Japan, there are less details that make it a little diference.

For example, the use of time in Japan are very complex but very well defined. Depending on what you want to do or the action that you will do   the time that you are gonig to use , to plan something you use a lot of time, but to put into action you use less time; for personal relationships, work and the company invests a lot of time, but for individual activities less time.. In the case of Mexico, spent more time on relationships outside the company and for personal pleasure, but to improve the work situation or business don`t pay the adecuate attention. This depends on the position that you have on the company  and the "workoholic" that you are. The truth is that Mexicans tend to look for  more pleasure than the recognition. On the other hand, the term long term is really not very common in Mexico because of the shortsightedness and continued uncertainty in which they  live, yhey usually look for a inmediate gratification or satisfaction. Mexicans prefer to spend constantly in small pleasures, to save and have a great satisfaction. It is better to go every Sunday to play football, that plan ahead and plan a possible vacation. Here we return to the constant uncertainty that affects a mexican and traditional way of living .

The famiy is another difference, in Japan, as in Mexico in some aspects,it`s neccesary  to create relationships of dependency. This is common between these two cultures, as the weight exerted by the family in Mexico is very important. While in Japan you can see this dependence more like a search for approval , in Mexico is more of a commitment. To some extent if one seeks acceptance, but the greater the commitment to meet the family.

Another example could be: the values. Is a costume that  in Japan people share in either working groups or friends responsibility, trust and commitment. While in Mexico, in contrast, typically look for  don`t have any responsability , there isn`t loyalty and lack of interest. A clear example is the lack of social commitment in the population. The Mexican has always had everything to do with what is outside your home is responsible to the government, disclaim responsibility for what happens around them and avoiding the commitment to their community.

Loyalty is also a value in Japan is estimated and used a lot, while in Mexico it is becoming harder to find. Here you can refer for example to political parties, which both supporters and members left and right change whenever it suits them. Clear and precise example is the Green Party coalition with the PRI.

As in every culture, there are words with references that go beyond the single meaning. This is the case in Japan and Mexico. In Mexico for example,  the phrases "tomorrow", "after a while" or "after", which in addition to its explicit meaning, within the Mexican culture implicit meaning, which, as the context may mean, "I do not want to do", "I will not do." This is closely linked to another aspect that also drive the Japanese hate the word no. In Mexico you prefer to spin the issue or disassociate rather than saying the word no. Usually done with the phrases mentioned above, or through pretexts such as the very famous line "is ...".

To sum up, as we now there are many cultures that have minimal differences like Mexico and Japan ,that are in some aspects really different but in others are alike.the family as all kind of cultures , and it is the base of the society. In both cultures look for freedom but in a different points of view, the values are important in each culture. Each culture has its own way to see the world, it is according on the context that they are developing and the values that they practice. As Ghandi said:"God did not create borders. My goal is friendship with the world".
