At some point in life you have to decide between staying at home with your parents as you have always done or starting a new life alone that means being independent. At a moment that you want to make a choice between these two styles of life. You should know there are some differences and only one similarity that you have to consider before taking a decision.
One main difference is the freedom that you would have. It is obviously that living alone you would have more freedom. You can set your own rules. For example you can decide which the right time is to arrive at your home. Moreover, when you have an important meeting and it is impossible you get home you can stay at a friend's house without problems. In the other hand if you decide living at home, your freedom will be restricted in some way. As we know parents are always trying to set some rules that you have to follow because it is part of the education that they want to give you, so getting late at home could cause many problems with your parents unless you asked for permission.
The other difference is that your financial aspect may be affected as a result of living alone. As you decide to live away from home you have to pay your own expenses such as the rent, the bills and your own food. While living at home the expenses most of the time are paid by your parents, but if you are the kind of person who contributes with the household expenses, only a small amount is given to those expenses without affecting your incomes.
Another difference is the emotional aspect that you have to face. Living at home can result less frustrating than living alone because you can share the problems that you have with you parents, siblings or any member of your family in order to look for some solutions to difficult situations that you may face. In contrast, if you live away from home most of the time your are going to be alone, so finding someone who wants to listen your problems can be difficult to get. Your friends are going to be the only people that might help you to solve your problems. However, they are not your relatives and sometimes they are not going to be with you.
In spite of these differences, These two apparently styles of live share one similarity that you have to know.
The similarity between living at home and living away from it, is that in both places you have certain responsibilities to fulfill. If your decision was to live at home with your parents. They will ask your help with household chores like cleaning your house, clean up your room, etc. Likewise , if you decided to live away from home you also have to do household chores because no one will do it for you so you have to do it.
In summary, I would say that living at home and living away from home have some differences and only one similarity, so making a decision between these two kind of styles of life can produce a big change in your life because there are many changes that you have to face. However, if decided for the second one remember that you have to be enough mature to face this new style of life.
