LIVING AT HOME AND LIVING AWAY FROM HOME

     There are many young people who live with their families but there is a moment in which they have to separate from them; so one of the hardest desicion they have to take in life is wheter they are going to stay at home or wheter they are going to live away from it. That is because it means a big change and the person has to learn many new things. Sometimes they do not know that when they move away from home is similar to born againg, with a new life and that fact is very shocking for many of them. So, people should know how these two options are similar and also different.


     Both are influenced by culture. If in a society, children are very stubborn to their parents, tehy are going to take a long time to separate from them; in contrast, those who are independant since12 or 13 years are going to separate easier. Forexample, inItaly, families are very traditional and unified, so a son can live with them until 40 years, or even more surprising, all his life! On the contrary, children in United States leave their homes at the age of 17 or 18. That clearly shows that the staying at home is really influenced by the believings of a society.


     When a person decides to live away from home, they realizes that the responsabilities are more. When living with parents, one does not need to make all home activities, just some of them and then they can do activities from their personal interest, while living alone is really hard because the person does not have someone to make all the activities as doing the laundry, sweeping, cooking, etc; as a result, they has to do everything, that is why they becomes more responsible.
     
     Also, when someone lives at home, there is not the necessity of getting money because parents pay everything; but living away from home, one should look for a stable economy to survive. What happens with some people, is that they do not get the money and they have a lot of debts, then they return to home.


     Living with parents has its advantages and disadvantages, just as living alone does. When the person lives with their familiy, they receives a lot of love, support and has always someone with who they can talk. However, when the person lives away from home does not have company. An Oxford University study reports: "People who do not live with their families anymore, have a 60% of probability for getting depressed and a 30% for getting stressed." That is because they are not prepared to face the new reality. Although it is hard not living with familiy, when the person surpass and accept that now they has to success with their own effort, they starts being an independant person, whereas the person who stayed at home still depending of their parents.


     To conclude, it is important for people to know that living away from home changes completly their lifes, in economy, responsability, emotionally and in independence.
