GLOBAL WARMING

Nowadays, people are increasingly conscious of the need to take care of the earth; however, there are still many things that damage our planet. All of these things are causing that the Earth start to increase its temperature. “The planet is warming from the North Pole to the South Pole, and everywhere in between.” (National) 1, and there are some consequences and causes for these increasing temperatures.

Because of Global Warming, the ice that is in the earth´s poles and in the mountain glaciers is melting. The ice´s melting at the poles is producing the decline of the number of penguins and the raise of the sea level. Sea level rise will become faster and is expected to rise between 18 and 59 centimeters by the end of the century (1). Some species of animals and plants could become extinct a cause of the change of our ecosystems.

All these consequences are because of global warming, but global warming is the result of two groups of causes, natural causes and man-madecauses.

Natural causes have existed since the origin of the Earth. They are happening all the time, and they are unavoidable. For example, a natural cause is the cycle of the weather, this cycle last about 40000 years.

Man-made causes produce the most damage to the Earth. They are just as its name says produced by humans. Pollution and population are the biggest causes. We use all the natural sources to survive; also, we burn fossil fuels that produce a gas called CO2 and others gases, but we don’t give anything back in return; that is why, we are damaging our planet.

In conclusion, Global Warming is a big problem with bad consequences and with two groups of causes of which humans are the main cause, so we have to think more in our planet and how we should protect it.
