I read an interesting article about the real meaning of Christmas, its title is “Was Jesus born on December 25?” This article caught my attention for its title because I always thought that Jesus Christ had born On December 25th; although the author of the article is anonymous it’s obvious that he says the true because he uses many historical sources, recently researches and facts that are well known by people around the world. He says that the Catholic Church trying to evangelize some countries found a strong wall of idolatry. That’s why they decided to celebrate their most important holiday “June birth” with Christian figures as Jesus, Maria, etc. Actually this is a pagan holiday which just tries to raise the materialism in children and alcoholism and gluttony in adults. However, Christian families celebrate this holyday because they feel that Jesus Christ was born in their hearts.
Pick out 5 lexical items (verbs, phrasal verbs, expressions, fillers, etc.) and write down examples of at least 2 different meanings of the lexical item.
